Back in 1970, southern rock band Mudcrutch formed around aspiring bassist and vocalist Tom Petty, but broke up in 1975 before they could release an album. Shortly afterward, members Petty, Mike Campbell, Benmont Trench, and Tom Leadon created another band, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and went on to be one of the most successful rock bands in the world over the next few decades.

In 2008, Mudcrutch reunited. They toured and released a self-titled album. Then, they took a long break to focus on Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers music. It has been an on-again, off-again project, but even after their eight-year hiatus, you can hear they're still making exceptional music with "Hungry No More." Listen above.

"Hungry No More" starts off slightly downtempo, then begins to pick up around 4:18 with a killer guitar solo to end the song. There is a sense of determination in the lyrics and music, demonstrating that even in the darkness of the situation, anything can be accomplished with an optimistic perspective.

Mudcrutch's second LP, 2, will be available on May 20, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon.

You can listen to the first two singles here on Zumic: "Trailer" and "Beautiful World."
