Adam Lambert has just released his new music video for "Welcome to the Show," featuring Persian-Swedish singer-songwriter Laleh.
The song details the hardships people face while trying to be themselves and embracing individuality. Lambert co-directed and produced the video with Lee Cherry in an effort to make it more personal. In the description under the video, Lambert writes a lengthy, detailed explanation of the concept behind the track, as well as who the message is intended for. Here's an excerpt:
I notice such diversity in my audiences when I’m on tour: Young, old, male, female, Trans, Gay, Straight, White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, and every beautiful in-between. The common bond is that they are all HUMAN BEINGS. No matter how we identify, the human heart has a universal set of emotions and needs. Sure it’s idealistic, but couldn’t we be recognizing our similarities, instead of our differences?
