Hard rock group Korn have shared a music video for "Rotting In Vain," the first single from their upcoming 12th studio album, The Serenity Of Suffering. Watch it above, courtesy of the band's YouTube.

Singer Jonathan Davis spoke about the song with Rolling Stone:

"Rotting in Vain" was written about being in that black place, being in situations that I don't like in life – be it relationships, or feeling when you're stuck and you're just being abused or you don't like where you're at, and you just sit there and rot... It takes you years and years to figure out how to claw your way out. That's where "Rotting in Vain" came from. I'm just sitting there, fucking dying and letting it happen for years and years and not helping myself to get out of that place. That's the vibe that inspired the song.

Directed by Dean Karr, the music video features Sons of Anarchy actor Tommy Flanagan dressed in a stylish manner. He breathes into a gas mask, which gives birth to the band, and they begin to rock out the song.

"Rotting In Vain" feels like a throwback to the late '90s / early '00s of the band, with pounding drums, crunchy guitar riffs, and Davis' menacing vocals and scat singing.

The Serenity Of Suffering is scheduled to be released on October 21st on Roadrunner Records. Pick it up on Amazon.

Korn are currently touring with Rob Zombie for the Return of the Dreads tour, then will join up with Breaking Benjamin on the Nocturnal Underground tour.
