On September 30, Eric Clapton will release a 2 CD / 3 LP album titled Live In San Diego with Special Guest JJ Cale. The performance was recorded on March 15, 2007 at San Diego's iPayOne Center, just a year after Clapton and Cale released their collaborative album The Road to Escondido.
Above, you can watch a live performance of JJ Cale's 1974 song "Anyway The Wind Blows" featuring Eric, JJ, Derek Trucks, and Doyle Bramhall II. Cale's style of rootsy blues rock was a big influence on Clapton, and in this performance we see the group of guitar virtuosos jamming as if they were in somebody's living room. Cale sadly passed away in 2013 at the age of 74, but his memory lives on in great recordings like this one.
