Pink Floyd have released The Early Years 1965-1972 box set, which is a 7-volume look at the band's work during the early stages of their career, before their monumental album Dark Side of the Moon was released in 1973.

The full box set includes 11 CDs, 8 Blu-ray Discs, 9 DVDs, and 5 seven-inch vinyl singles, and is available exclusively as a physical package. Meanwhile, an abridged 2-disc version of the collection titled Cre/ation is available through major streaming services. You can stream the abridged version above for free with a Spotify account.

Cre/ation contains 27 tracks accounting for 1 hour 52 minutes, and features rarities, remixed and remastered versions of familiar tracks, and live BBC sessions. There's even a radio advertisement for the band's 1969 album Ummagumma.

Syd Barrett was the band's frontman from 1967 to 1968, and you can hear a major change in their sound toward spacey rock after he was essentially replaced by singer-songwriter-guitarist David Gilmour and bassist Roger Waters, who became a formidable singer-songwriter himself.

Beginning with a remastered version of Pink Floyd's debut single, "Arnold Layne," The Early Years, 1967-1972, Cre/ation is a must-listen for even the most casual Pink Floyd fan. The songs represent an interesting look at the band's evolution, from their psychedelic pop days to the more experimental, progressive, and polished stages of their career.

All the tracks here are certainly worth a listen. To go along with the collection, the band has also shared promotional music videos on YouTube for some of the most choice nuggets: "Nothing Part 14," "Grantchester Meadows," "Childhood's End," and "Green Is the Colour."

Head to Amazon to pick up Cre/ation and the full 27-disc The Early Years, 1967-1972.

If you're curious about whether they might follow this up with a box set of unreleased material from the mid-'70s, stay tuned because the band haven't announced anything yet.

Earlier this week, an exclusive event was held in London that featured an unboxing of The Early Years 1965-1972 box set as well as an interview with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. You can check that out below.
