Cornell Study: Collective Motion of Moshers at Heavy Metal Concerts

Leave it to my alma mater, Cornell University, to study Mosh Pits at Heavy Metal concerts and come up with a formula for the activity of "a Mobile Active Simulated Humanoid, or MASHer":

Repulsion?  Gaseous Particles?  I think the study could also explain the smell at Heavy Metal concerts. Seriously.
