Robert Zimmerman of Hibbing, MN reached another milestone today, this time as the first rock musician inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The elite honor society couldn't decide between honoring him for his words or his music and instead made him an honorary member, joining the likes of Merly Streep, Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese.

The ultra exclusive club was founded in 1898 and is made up 250 artists, musicians and writers. The Academy, which only opens spots when a member dies, has long been know for keeping it's doors shut to all sorts of contemporary artists, which makes Dylan's inclusion very unique. Dylan's management offered no comment on whether Dylan would attend the ceremony, but it has been announced that Pulitzer Prize winning author Micheal Chabon will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony.

Bob is taking his show on the road yet again this spring, playing dates across the Southeastern and Midwestern U.S. with Dawes, check out the full list of dates at his site.
