On Friday night Andrew W.K. assumed the front man duties for Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg band as they performed nearly an hour of Ramones classics to a packed room at Santos Party House in NYC.

The band rocked through 25-plus Ramones hits as fans sang along, moshed, and jumped on stage to share vocal duties with Andrew W.K. "Judy Is a Punk," "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker," were obvious crowd favorites.  Marky Ramone's drumming kept the songs fast and aggressive, and Andrew W.K.'s high energy vocals gave the songs a new life and energy.  The sold out crowd, wearing hoodies, leather jackets, and piercings, crowd surfed all night to songs that played a vital role in NYC's 70's punk explosion.  The closing song "Blitzkrieg Bop" blew the roof off the venue as an animated Andrew W.K. slithered around and Marky Ramone showed off his skills with a drum solo.

Starting this tour with a member of The Ramones and one of rock's most unique characters who has an undying love for NYC seemed obvious and fitting. Ramones songs are deep rooted in NYC history and the fans in attendance were a living testament to that fact.
