Yesterday St. Lucia announced that they will be touring with Two Door Cinema Club this summer. The band, lead by Jean-Phillip Groebler, is based in New York, but Grobler grew up in South Africa, where his song "September" is topping the charts, beating out songs like "I Knew You Were Trouble" by Taylor Swift. St. Lucia is picking up speed stateside as well — most recently the band toured with Ellie Goulding, playing mostly sold-out shows and a few gigs co-headlining with Charli XCX, according to Billboard.com.
In an interview with Billboard.com Grobler said that St. Lucia will likely have a new album out this summer, stating, "Basically I thought the album was finished in September ... I sat with it for a while because ... that way you can feel whether it has a lasting feel." To get that feel, he's looking to put a few finishing touches on tracks that might work as singles, as he's mentioned producers Chris Zane (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!) and Rich Costey (fun., Miguel) as potential collaborators in that process.
