Hold on wait a minute, y'all thought Drake was finished?! The OVO boss unleashed a scathing freestyle aimed at his former rap buddy Meek Mill, titled "Back To Back." It was released early this morning and instantly started a social media frenzy.
Unless you were under a rock last week, you should know Meek Mill blasted Drake on Twitter for not penning his own raps, stating that a writer by the name of Quentin Miller was behind his hits. Apparently, he was also angry at the Toronto rapper for not tweeting his latest album Dreams Worth More Than Money. Shocker. Meek started a minuscule beef with Wale for the same reason last year. Drake responded to these allegations with the song "Charged Up," a mild diss track towards Meek but effective nonetheless.
Today, Drake unloads the rest of the clip with "Back to Back," a 3-minute, hard-hitting track discrediting Meek's rap career. Drizzy swings haymaker after haymaker in the hookless track with a majority of his bars aimed at Meek and Nicki Minaj's relationship. He raps:
You love her, then you gotta give the world to her
Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?
I know that you gotta be a thug for her
This ain't what she meant when she told you to open up more
The social media world had a field day with "Back to Back." Numerous pictures and videos were made by fans expressing their shock of the lethal freestyle. Check out what the Twittersphere had to say about the track using #BackToBack.
Fun fact: The song's cover shown on SoundCloud features Joe Carter of the Toronto Blue Jays running after he hit the home run that won the 1993 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Blue Jays also won the '92 World Series giving them "back to back' titles. So basically it shows Drake's hometown team beating Meek's hometown team. Clever Drake.
