L.A. garage rock band together PANGEA just released their debut album Badillac yesterday, and today we've got the stream for you. Listen to it above, courtesy of Spotify.

The album begins with a string of five relentless garage rockers, including tempo-alternating opening track "Alive," before offering some (admittedly short-lived) acoustic relief with "Offer." Two more acoustic-tinged tracks pop up towards the end, and showcase together PANGEA's fondness for Neil Young. Balancing these with gritty rockers, the band shows us why Young is frequently called the "Godfather of Grunge."

There's a great balance of beauty and grime on Badillac, to the point where frontman William Keegan can snottily proclaim, "my dick is soft" seconds before the tempo slows for a delicious guitar solo, only to speed up again for a breakneck finish. That song's called "Sick Shit," by the way -- one of many examples of together PANGEA's apparent desire to locate themselves as typically debauched garage punks.

The fact is, together PANGEA's aiming for much more on Badillac than your average garage band. I wouldn't call the album grandiose in a million years, but it contains unorthodox song structures, random sprinkles of harmonica and strings, and a myriad of moods and tempos -- none of which are hallmarks of the genre. together PANGEA play garage rock first and foremost, but they seem totally open to incorporating whatever other genres they see fit, and that, boys and girls, is truly badass.
