Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are celebrating fifty years as The Who, and they are commemorating the occasion by embarking on a world tour and releasing a new hits compilation titled The Who Hits 50! Featured on the CD is their first new song in 8 years, "Be Lucky." Check out the song above.

It's an upbeat anthem with a flavor that harkens back to the Quadrophenia album. Pete supplies giant guitar riffs and Daltrey sounds like the singer of old with full vocals. The band is backed by Pino Palladino on bass, Zak Starkey on drums and Mick Talbot on keyboards.

The song was recorded at the end of the summer at British Grove and Yellow Fish Studios. The band announced that royalties from "Be Lucky" will benefit the Teen Cancer America, a charity the pair started in 2011 to benefit teens and young adults with cancer in the United States.

Who Hits 50! will be available October 27 from Geffen / Universal Music Enterprises, and is available for pre-order via Amazon. The Who Hits 50! tour is set to begin in November. For further music, news, and tour information, check out The Who Zumic artist page.
