The song comes from Battles' latest EP, Until September, being one of seven tracks produced by J.Cuse on the project. The up-and-coming rapper from Indianapolis has been making a name for himself not only as a musician, but as CEO and founder of his own record label, Fly America.

"Be Real" vocalizes the strong lyrics of being yourself and staying true, over laid back beats. Battles remininces about harder times and how far his music has taken him in verses such as, "Really started from the bottom / I was houndin' to eat / Now I just got on tour $20 thousand a week / 'Cause the sound is unique."

According to his Facebook page, Battles' "desire [is] to properly represent his hometown with the production of effective music that listeners will not only appreciate, but also remember." The rapper begins his Until September tour July 10th.
