The last time we posted a Chvrches cover, it was of British boy band East 17. This time, the source material is much different (goth legends Bauhaus), but the end result still sounds wholly Chvrches. Listen to the Scottish trio's take on "Bela Lugosi's Dead," from the soundtrack to the upcoming film Vampire Academy, above.

As is the case when anything remotely dark "goes mainstream," some people are really pissed off about this cover, as is evident in the SoundCloud comments. Here are a few of the best:

"Sooo WEAK; no atmosphere or tension which made the original a classic."

"What a pitiful pice of rip-off crap. None of the original’s sinister darkness remain. And absolutely no creative input. Shame shame shame."

"quelle merde!" (Translation: what shit!)

"I like Chvrches. I like Bauhaus. This is like dog turds in ice cream rather than peanut butter and jelly."

"love you guys, but somehow I'm not completely sold on this cover... but thank you for all the delicious goth tears I see on these comments! :)"

As this soundtrack is also set to feature a cover of The Cure's "Boys Don't Cry" by some pop star named Natalia Kills, you can be sure there will be more goth tears where these came from.

Head over to Chvrches' Zumic artist page for more of their covers, as well as videos, news and tour dates.
