Umphrey's McGee has uploaded a recent live performance of their 2006 track, "Believe The Lie." With saxophonist Joshua Redman in tow, the jam outfit performed this track on March 7, 2015 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California. Screamin' solos, wild improv, and weird time signatures make this set-ending track the perfect demonstration of the collaboration's energy.

On "Believe The Lie," the musicians channel their inner King Crimson, allowing dissonant free jazz to melt into prog-metal. Never ones to shy away from the heavier side of things, guitarist Jake Cinninger's guitar chugs take the band into a territory that few dare dwell in.

Umphrey's McGee have a new project due out on April 7, 2015. Titled The London Sessions, the album consists of previously released songs recorded during one day at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. You can preorder The London Sessions on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). For a preview, watch video of the group shredding The Beatles' “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” at Abbey Road right here on Zumic.
