Canadian quartet Absolutely Free have released a new track off their upcoming debut. It's called "Beneath the Air," and you can listen to it above.
The Toronto-based band are exactly what the name implies. Their music is freewheeling and expansive, with ethereal synth arrangements and layers of percussion. The '60s psychedelic rock-inspired instrumentation is really what makes this song noteworthy, but it doesn't come across as a staunch reincarnation of that era. The heavy percussion feels magical, almost childlike, inspiring all sorts of wondrous imagery.
The self-titled debut EP is out October 14th via Lefse Records. For more info on the band, check out their Bandcamp.
