Above, listen to Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. lay down his soulful remix of Gary Clark Jr.'s "Blak and Blu." The track maintains most of the core instrumental elements of the original, but offers up a slightly altered beat that lends itself perfectly to KRIT's verse. The resemblance to early Outkast is uncanny.

The mixtape, titled Blak and Blu: The Mixtape, has no set release date but we do know that it will feature an wide array of accomplished artists. Expect to hear collaborations with Erykah Badu, Bilal, Jill Scott, Robert Glasper, and Talib Kweli.
