Rising pop-diva Bonnie Mckee unveiled her newest single, "American Girl", in the 102.7 KIIS FM studio in Burbank, CA on The Weekend Mixtape.
After years of co-writing with other pop stars such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Ke$ha, Mckee is performing more of her own singles. In 2011, Rolling Stone named Mckee the "Best Secret Weapon" of pop after co-writing eight #1 singles including Katy Perry's "California Girls," "Teenage Dream," and "Last Friday Night". Mckee also co-wrote "Dynamite" with Taio Cruz, which became the second best-selling song by a British artist in the digital era.
Mckee is currently working with Katy Perry on a "Teenage Dream" follow-up album. She revealed that the album "is more grown up" than Perry's previous albums.
