Much of Schoolboy Q's phenomenal new album, Oxymoron, deals with the precarious balance in his life between fatherhood and gangsterdom. The video for "Break The Bank," released last Friday, offers a great visualization of these contrasting lifestyles. Watch it above.
Q's daughter, who appears on the album's cover and a couple of its songs, is prominently featured here too. She dances and skips around gaily while Q fraternizes with some shady characters, including a dude with huge gauged ears, tattoos all over his face and a pair of Tec-9s. Q, clad in Kangol bucket hats, knee high socks and sandals, embodies his contradictions, shown caring for his daughter, partying with his friends and glaring at the camera. More so than the bodacious videos for "Man of the Year" and "Collard Greens," this new "Break The Bank" clip offers the best summation of Oxymoron's complex themes that you could hope for in under six minutes.
