Country artist Sam Hunt is new to the industry but is definitely working his way to the top with his new music video for "Break Up In A Small Town." Check it out above!

The whole thing is almost like a mini-movie. Hunt singing into the mirror in a house that is burning down. Desperate to run away, he runs through the streets of the small town to get away from the sights of his ex in the arms of another man. The video includes scenes of the girl with the new guy in her life but unlike him, her face is pixelated. It makes the theme that much stronger, not making it about a specific girl.

Though he is considered a country artist, there are electronic and R&B elements strung through the song. Shane McAnally, who wrote with Sam Hunt and co-produced the singer's album Montevallo spoke about this in an interview with Billboard:

"[Hunt] loved country music growing up," McAnally says, "but then he's in the locker room listening to all this rap music. He said that his idea was sort of to bring those two worlds together, and that is where he's ended up. That is him also pushing to be completely unique and away from anything else in the format... he really wanted to figure out how to put his own stamp on things."

The song starts off narration, describing his break up with a girl who ends up moving on with a guy he knows. He struggles with this since, as the title states, it's all going on in a small town:

I knew she'd find a way to get over me
But I'd never thought that
She would get down with somebody I know
I guess that's just how it goes
When you break up in a small town

Moving on is hard, especially when your ex has done so already and it's with someone you know!

Montevallo is available on Amazon (CD, MP3).
