Jamband heavyweights Phish have shared the first single from their upcoming 13th album, Big Boat. Listen to "Breath And Burning" above.

"Breath And Burning" has a funky and airy feel to it as horns and Page McConnell's tickling of the keys add a soulful element. Trey Anastasio, who makes reference to Dylan Thomas's Do not go gentle into that good night in the lyrics, shared some comments about the song in an email with NPR Music:

I wrote this song on the beach after our three-night run in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico last January... I loved watching the faces of all the people dancing and splashing in the ocean while we played. I kept thinking, 'This will all end sooner or later, one way or another. So I'm gonna enjoy every last second of it while we're still here. I'm not gonna wave away the dessert cart on the Titanic. I want to be like that string quintet that kept playing while it sank.'

Produced by Bob Ezrin, Big Boat is scheduled to be released on October 7, 2016.

Phish is scheduled to begin their Fall tour on October 14 in South Carolina. For more Phish, check out their Zumic artist page.
