English wunderkind Jake Bugg apparently caught the eye of legendary producer Rick Rubin. So much so, in fact, that Rubin decided to work with the singer, starting with a re-recording of "Broken" (co-written by Crispin Hunt) from Bugg's debut album, Jake Bugg.
The production of the song strays from Rubin's bare bones approach with artists like Johnny Cash and fully embraces the huge drum sounds of Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and a full string arrangement by Metallica's David Campbell. The music video, like other Bugg videos, chronicles dark and sad stories as he sings about them.
According to Rolling Stone, the two are set to return to the studio later this year to finish the album. Stay tuned to Zumic for more details.
