Brooklyn band Bridges and Powerlines is truly repping their hood on their new 6 track mini LP Better. Each of the songs on the record takes it's name form a neighborhood in the borough where a band member experienced something that inspired the record. As Zumic is based in Williamsburg, we wholeheartedly support this very cool idea.
"Bushwick" itself is a emotive heart-on-your-sleeve rock song in the vein of The Hold Steady or Springsteen and you can already tell it will be a live favorite. Lyrics about moving on and starting over and met by triumphantic guitar, a great keyboard line and Arcade Fire-ish "oooooo oooooo oooooo"'s.
This is a very exciting taste of what's to come on Better, which is due out May 21st via Daisy Pistol.
