Mazzy Star, the '90s shoegaze/dream pop band who hit it big with "Fade Into You," have announced the upcoming release of their first album since 1996's Among My Swan. The album, entitled Seasons of Your Day, is set to drop on September 24th. The band, which is still made up of original members Hope Sandoval and David Roback, has released a single from Seasons called "California." The song showcases Sandoval's soft, mesmerizing voice and Roback's spaced-out acoustic guitar work. Take a listen to the track in the video above.

Seasons of Your Day was recorded in Norway and California, and includes contributions from My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig and the late folk singer Bert Jansch. The album was co-written and co-produced by Sandoval and Roback. The band also plans to announce a fall tour sometime in the near future.

In related news, Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis has released a cover of "Fade Into You." Check it out here on Zumic.
