Ibiza. Lisbon. NYC. LA. London. Berlin. Paris. Wee Waa? The Australian town of Wee Waa was host to one of the best parties on earth and possibly elsewhere recently when Daft Punk's insanely hyped new record Random Access Memories dropped, as the French dance robots held their official record release party there. The town of 2,000 reportedly sold 4,000 tickets to the party, which included a huge LED dancefloor and a large fireworks display.

Whoever is in charge of Daft Punk's promotions is a wise man, because this is yet another weird thing that worked... but the backlash caused by so much hype is already being expressed by some.

I, personally, find both all this stuff and the record very charming. Sure, I got tired of posting a new Daft Punk "story" every 36 hours, but who doesn't want to hear Panda Bear talk about working with Daft Punk?

Wee Waa = the next Ibiza?
