Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ has released "Christ Conscious," the second single to his upcoming major label debut album. The album, titled B4.Da.$$, is set to be released before the end of the year. The Cinematic Music Group artist has released 2 singles in the last 2 months, titled "Big Dusty" and "Get Paid." While "Big Dusty" is confirmed to be featured on B4.Da.$$, "Get Paid" did not make the cut.
If there is one rapper we can count on delivering that raw, gritty, 1990s New York sound, it is Joey. With this new single, Joey does not deviate from his signature boom-bap sound, praised by a new generation of rap fans as well as hip hop purists. The Basquiat-produced single features a more aggressive sounding Joey while the video depicts a gritty New York environment with astounding visual effects. With his sound, he is well on his way to bringing back the old school New York sound.
