Veteran actor Sir Christopher Lee, best known for his roles as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings, as well as both Count Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster in his early career, is also a longtime fan and singer of metal music. His latest album, Charlemagne: The Omens of Death, is set to be released on May 27, Lee's 91st birthday, proving that Lee is more metal than you could ever hope to be.
Lee's previous album, Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross, was recorded with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. Lee considers his previous album was definitely metal, but more "symphonic." He assures everyone that Charlemagne: The Omens of Death is "100% heavy metal."
