Old touring mates Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The National's Matt Berninger have collaborated on a new song to be released on the next CYHSY album. Listen to "Coming Down" above, via SoundCloud.

The song is a psychedelic rocker, with heavily processed guitars that sound pretty awesome. Fuzzy, spacey, sparkly tones and amped up electronics are offset by a drum beat that has a familiar feel to other songs from The National. The aggressive rhythmic breathing is another interesting element in the groove, and a cool part of the song arrangement.

The vocals are dark and longing. "Coming Down" is very unique, but you can hear sounds derivative of great European rock bands like Radiohead and U2. The Matt Berninger vocal over a piano breakdown toward the end of the song flips the script in a really nice way, and when CYHSY's Alec Ounsworth joins back in, it's a really powerful moment.

On the SoundCloud page, it says "From the new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah album Only Run out on June 3, 2014." Wikipedia says that the album was mixed by Dave Fridmann, known for his work with The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala, among many others.

Only Run is available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon.

In related news, it appears CYHSY will be releasing the album through Xtra Mile Recordings.
