There is a particular sound of an overdriven Gibson electric guitar through a Fender tube amplifier. It's the classic dirty rock and roll sound that's been a key component to records by people like The Rolling Stones to Neil Young & Crazy Horse. That grungy guitar tone is essentially the star of Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires' music video for "The Company Man" which you can watch above.
You can't see the faces of the guys in the band, bringing to mind John Lennon's "Come Together" line "Got to be good looking 'cause he's so hard to see." What you can see is guitars, amps, effects, road cases, hair, t-shirts... rock and roll staples. Shots of the band rocking out are interspersed with images that make you really think about the refrain "don't ever trust The Company Man." Shawn Brackbill directed the music video, which is fast paced and matches the song well.

Consider the record’s opener, “The Company Man.” It revs up with a riff sleazy enough to clog Rod Stewart’s stomach pump as an incantation that only a Yellowhammer can truly understand is bellowed and then screamed. Before you know it, the joint is hotter than a Birmingham soaking pit while you, the listener, are reminded, lest you forget, don’t ever trust the company man.

Indeed, it's a melding of greasy melodic southern rock with enough dirt under the fingernails to fit in with some of the hardest jams of the '70s. Deconstructed is available on Sub Pop, Amazon, iTunes, and Spotify.
