Last week, Logic dropped his second song of 2019 with a visual for "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" — the title track to an upcoming album. Listen and watch above.
Logic's flow and delivery of the song takes listeners on an entertaining ride from start to finish. "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" showcases the 29-year-old Maryland rapper's signature style combining vocal dexterity with thought-provoking bars. Over an ambient yet hard-hitting boom-bap beat, he tackles issues of dealing with criticism, feeling his music is misunderstood, and the detrimental effects of social media on not just himself but others as well.
This is a gloomy and emotional piece — accentuated by the dark, blood-soaked music video — contrasting with the final message to "Put your ego on the shelf / And remember, love yourself." On Twitter, he posted the video along with the message, "I wrote this one in Blood."
Coming off two full-length releases in 2018 — Bobby Tarantino II and Young Sinatra IV — Logic continues pushing out new material at a furious pace. At this time, there is no information about the Confessions of a Dangerous Mind album release, but earlier today Logic released an unexpected new book called Supermarket along with an album of new music as a soundtrack. The book is published under his birth name, Bobby Hall, and the music veers toward rock.
