Detroit rapper Big Sean has a new album, Hall of Fame, slated for release on August 27th. "Control (HOF)" will not be on the album due to a sample clearance issue, but this seven minute-long epic is worth a listen, thanks to production from No I.D., and stellar guest verses from Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica.
In Big Sean's own words:
This one that didn't make the album cuz of the sample BUT IT IS NOT no radio shit.. Straight rap... I'm talking 7min shit... Grimey shit.

Perhaps in response to fellow Detroit native Danny Brown's recent accusation that Big Sean "ain't been to the hood in years," Big Sean spends his lengthy verse attempting to redefine his role as an "OG," while pitting "Detroit versus everybody."
Kendrick Lamar seems equally as angry in his verse, dismissing every rapper that's not "Kendrick, Jigga, Nas, Eminem or Andre 3000," and even calling out several of his contemporaries by name. Jay Electronica hops on to close out the final minutes of this marathon of a track, and opts for some of his signature multicultural spiritualism by name-dropping God and casually spouting off some Arabic.
All in a day's work for these three workhorse rappers.
