On July 3 at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon, Widespread Panic busted out a cover of Neil Young and Crazy Horse's 1975 classic "Cortez the Killer," and invited opening act Jerry Joseph to sit in. Watch their exciting performance above.
"Cortez the Killer" has been covered by many bands over the years, and Panic's version truly stands out on its own. Jimmy Herring and Jerry Joseph contribute fantastic guitar riffs, and Jerry trades vocals with J.B. too. Towards the end, the band shifts the tempo to a reggae vibe, keeping a relaxed feel.
