This year, Aaron Freeman (formerly Gene Ween) came out with his first all-new album under the moniker FREEMAN. Aaron and his band played their first ever show -- which just happened to be their record release show -- at NYC's Mercury Lounge on July 22nd, and you can watch a clip from the show above.

The album version of "(For A While) I Couldn't Play My Guitar Like A Man" gets extended by three full minutes for the performance, with guitarist Chris Boerner wailing out a monstrous solo for the bulk of the added time. Although the song's content is a bit heavier than most of Aaron's material, he's clearly having a blast onstage. For their first ever live outing, the band is extremely tight and have a palpable chemistry, so we look forward to seeing them on their upcoming tour.
