The Murder City Devils have had a tumultuous history, but they're back with their first new record in 14 years and they haven't lost their edge. The band split up and cut ties with Sub Pop in the early 2000s. They re-formed in 2006, but we haven't seen any new material until now. You can hear a groovy, angry rocker from their brand new album, The White Ghost Has Blood On Its Hands Again, in the player above.
"Cruelty Abounds" is the second track on the record, and it's a bitter, blistering jaunt through sonic radness. The strong guitar riffs and rhythmic styling are straight-up rock and roll for the most part, but Spencer Moody's gritty vocals take the song into wild Devils' territory. The organ sounds aren't featured as prominently as in their previous work, but the whirling sound makes the track as danceable as it is pissed off.
The White Ghost Has Blood On Its Hands Again is available now at the band's official website.
