Indie rock band Young the Giant released a new single entitled “Crystallized.” The song, which is accompanied with an “out of this world” music video is a sneak peak for the band’s upcoming album, Mind Over Matter, which is to be released January 21, 2014.

The new song is the second track to be released off of the band’s sophomore album, giving fans a taste into what the entire album has in store for them. The music video shows the guys bouncing around space, ducking asteroids, and watching planets fly past their window. If you happen to start watching the video with the sound down, you might think it is a clip taken straight from Lost in Space, Star Trek, or Gravity rather than from a Young the Giant music video.

All in all, the song is catchy and the video works, but there is nothing spectacularly out of the ordinary, surprising, or especially exciting about either the song or the video. It is exactly what you might expect the next Young the Giant release would be. Mind Over Matter is out January 21st via Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders are currently on going via the Young the Giant official web page.
