The New York City indie-pop duo Cults is back! After a great self-titled debut in 2011, the Manhattan musicians will be returning with their sophomore album Static on October 15th via Columbia.

To announce Static, Cults released a creepy, appropriately static-filled, video that looks like it is straight out of Poltergeist. The video teases the album with a release date, and snippets of two songs off of the new album: "We've Got It" and "So Far." Though the snippets are hard to hear well over the static, what we did pick up sounded pretty exciting.

Cults, once again, got some producing help from Shane Stoneback and Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out, Youth Lagoon), both of whom worked on their first album back in 2011.

You can catch Cults live on a few select dates in the next couple of months. Fingers crossed there will be more shows announced after October 15th.

Cults Tour Dates:
July 26 - Chicago, IL @ Subterranean
July 27 - Chicago, IL @ Wicker Park Fest
July 28 - Seattle, WA @ Capitol Hill Block Party
September 7 - Dallas, TX @ Untapped Festival
September 8 - Sacramento, CA @ Launch Festival 2013
November 1-3 - New Orleans, LA @ Voodoo Experience
