King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared a new song titled "Cyboogie" with a new music video to boot. Watch it above on YouTube.
We'd be hard pressed to say the song doesn't live up to its title. At almost seven minutes long, the tune travels an interesting path of spacey synths, robotic vocals, and dance beats. There is a lot of colorful production happening that makes the song enjoyable and unpredictable.
Directed by Jason Galea, the video shows the band performing the song while wearing red jumpsuits and helmets in the retro-futuristic style of the '70s and '80s. The name "Cyboogie" implies "Cyborg" — which was a term first coined in the '60s and Google defines as "a fictional or hypothetical person whose physical abilities are extended beyond normal human limitations by mechanical elements built into the body" — as we see by lead singer Stu Mackenzie fused with the body of an electronic keyboard.
The song will be released as a 7" single on February 1, 2019. Pick it up here.
