Last night, on the eve before the release of her sophomore record, Janelle Monáe appeared on Late Show With David Letterman to perform her latest single, "Dance Apocalyptic." She played with impressively fervent energy, as she prowled and danced around the stage. She even took her fancy footwork to the top of Letterman's desk before leaping off and slamming her microphone stand into the floor. But on top of all of this, Monáe never missed a beat, delivering a perfect vocal performance of the fun track.
"Dance Apocalyptic" comes from Monáe's brand new album, The Electric Lady, which just came out today. You can buy it now on iTunes, or find it at Target to get 4 exclusive bonus tracks. Monáe will also be touring North America this October and November. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
