King Khan & the Shrines will be releasing their first album in six years, entitled Idle No More, in September. This week, the psychedelic-soul group released a video for one song from the album, called "Darkness." Eschewing their normal uptempo, dancey, horn-laden songs, this one is a slow, mournful ballad, which sets the mood for the video, which is entirely in stop-motion animation and tells the story of a circus strongman, a human cannonball, and of course, life and death.
You can pre-order Idle No More from the band’s label, Merge Records, or from iTunes before its release date on September 3.
