A 3 CD Grateful Dead tribute compilation titled Day of the Dead has been released through 4AD Records. The 59-track, 5½-hour album was curated by The National’s Aaron & Bryce Dessner, and features some of music's hottest indie acts covering the timeless music of the Grateful Dead.

Before the release, 4AD shared some highlights of the collection on YouTube. They've also shared a playlist of Grateful Dead performances of the same songs, which makes for an interesting comparison:

Money collected from Day of the Dead will go towards the Red Hot Organization, a non-profit that helps to fight AIDS / HIV and other health related issues worldwide. Pick up the physical copy on Amazon. You can also stream the full album above, via Spotify.
