Last night, pop star Miley Cyrus joined The Flaming Lips on Conan to perform a theatrical version of The Beatles 1967 classic "A Day in the Life." She and singer Wayne Coyne dress up to present a unique twist to the song. You can watch the clip above via YouTube.

Sporting a flowing silver robe and plastic eyes glued to his body, Wayne Coyne leads the opening verse with style and flair. We see Miley pop out under Wayne's robe to handle the second verse before showing off her impressive pipes. The band adds an electronic feel to the song that swelters into an atmospheric ending. Miley and Wayne are colorful characters, which adds an enjoyable weirdness to this collaboration.

The Flaming Lips appearance was in support of their newly released album With A Little Help From My Fwends. You can pick that up on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes. Proceeds from the album go to The Bella Foundation, whose mission is to "assist low-income, elderly or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care."
