Today, indie noise pop darlings Deerhoof shared what director and animator Joseph Baughman describes as a "stop-motion improv" music video for “The Devil and his Anarchic Surrealist Retinue,” the first single off their 2016 album The Magic. The video's off-the-wall visuals follow an insane narrative of blood ritual and demonic warfare while hectic drums, twanging guitar, and Satomi Matsuzaki's hallmark vocals propel the track forward with a quick, lurching rhythm.
The Magic is out today on Polyvinyl. Pick it up on Amazon (CD, MP3).
