Jeff Tweedy and his son, Spencer, have teamed up as Tweedy and are releasing an album called Sukierae on September 23rd. They've released 3 singles from the record already, and today, they premiered the 4th, entitled "Diamond Light Pt. 1." You can listen to it above.
The track starts out with a folk-rock vibe, with Jeff Tweedy singing softly over a steady drum beat and gentle guitars. Halfway through however, the song becomes an experimental jam session. There's dissonant piano, and the once gentle electric guitar howls in the background. Tweedy repeats: "are you scared, are you frightened, terrified of being alone" throughout this segment, adding to the bleakness and darkness of the track. It's a fascinating track with unexpected twists that will keep the listener excited.
You can listen to Tweedy's most recent single, "Wait For Love," right here on Zumic. You can pre-order Sukierae at the Tweedy Kung Fu Store, and if you pre-order it on Monday June 21st, you can get this song for free.
