Icelandic folk-pop pioneers Of Monsters and Men, the band behind the excellent 2012 LP My Head Is An Animal, have teamed up with directing duo WeWereMonkeys to put out a lyric video for album track "Dirty Paws."

This marks the first in a series of twelve lyric videos, each one set to tackle a different track off the band's debut album. WeWereMonkeys, the duo that consists of directors Marcella Moser & Mihai Wilson, have taken an immense amount influence from the lyrics themselves.

The video is an animated short that features a monster rambling across snowy terrain, bearing a flag emblazoned with two adjacent birds. As the beast marches on with the lyrics appearing in black text underfoot, he suddenly becomes surrounded by a stunning swarm of flying creatures -- who come into sight during the line "They had a pet dragonfly" -- in the background who continue to make appearances throughout the video.

There are no cuts in this short. It's a seamless journey through the snow which evokes the subtle tranquility of the lyrics. The vivid, yet poignant landscape lends itself to the text and further establishes the resolute conclusion.

You can pick up My Head Is An Animal on iTunes and Amazon. For further music and tour related information, head over to Of Monsters and Men's Zumic artist page.
