In a sit-down with WM40A, legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier discussed various topics involving rap. One highlight in the YouTube interview is news of a possible Nas album fully produced by Premier. "It's coming... he has another project to drop on Def Jam and then he is a free agent, let him get that out," he said regarding the album's possible release.
Besides the surprising news of the two collaborating for a full album, Premier also discussed his take on today's method of producing, his long-time experience, beat pricing, and Jay Z remaining a relevant figure in hip-hop. He compared himself still producing to Jay Z still rapping, as both have been contributing to the industry since the early 90's. "That's what I love about Jay Z, he's going to be 44 years old later on in the year, he's still relevant to both generations."
When asked about the price it would cost for a rapper to be blessed with his production, he jokingly responded "Fat Gary is somewhere around here, you can hit him up at Fat Gary at Gmail... that's all I can tell you."
