Noisy NYC rockers Japanther have just announced a new album, Instant Money Magic, and shared its lead single. "Do It (Don't Try)" is a short song that's equal parts fuzzy and fun. Stream it above.

Beginning with a sample of Mos Def from Immortal Technique's "Bin Laden," the song quickly veers off into a slacker-ific burst of poppy garage rock. Urging listeners to stop trying so hard at everything in the song's chorus, Japanther hide some deeper lyrics in the verses, including the intriguingly philosophical line, "every point is infinite and everybody's livin' in it." "Do It (Don't Try)" is more complex than its title, basic structure and two minute length suggest, illuminating Japanther as savvy garage rock veterans.

Instant Money Magic, the band's 12th LP, is set to drop on April 15th. Stay tuned for more details, and stream last year's "Stolen Flowers" right here on Zumic. Japanther are embarking on a brief tour in support of the new album, the dates of which you can view below.
