This November 23, music stores in the United States will celebrate another Record Store Day "Black Friday" event. One of the special releases will be A Perfect Circle's cover of AC/DC's "Dog Eat Dog." Listen above, no turntable required, on YouTube.
AC/DC released the original on 1977's Let There Be Rock album, and 40+ years later it still drips with rock swagger. A Perfect Circle lean into AC/DC's iconic hard and heavy sound, with menacing riffs, thick bass, and tight drumming. Maynard's snarling vocals are a great fit for Bon Scott's original part, and APC update the sound with a slightly industrial rhythm backing and heavily overdriven guitars.
The track will be included on a 7" limited-edition vinyl with "So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish." You can find more information about the Black Friday event on the official website.
Eat The Elephant is currently available on Amazon and major streaming services. You can also stream the album for free and read our review here on Zumic.
The band will be heading out on a U.K. tour next month. For concert tickets and more, check out A Perfect Circle's Zumic artist page.
