Best Coast has released an official video for "I Don't Know How," the latest single off of their EP Fade Away. The song strips back the lo-fi surf aesthetics in favor of straightforward pop-punk. Starting off in a slow waltz tempo, it soon ramps up to the pace of a Weezer song, heavy on power chords and repetition. While the lyrics carry very little weight, singer Bethany Cosentino's voice is in top form, carelessly and hopelessly belting out a quirky love ballad.
The video holds to the song's pop-punk aesthetic, with the band hanging out in a empty pool, surrounded by stereotypical Californian skateboarders. The video plays mostly in slow motion through a washed out filter, helping to accentuate the song's dream-like sound with equally dreamy imagery.
