String Cheese Incident shared pro-shot video of their recent performance at Stubb's in Austin, Texas. Watch "Don't Let Go" above, courtesy of SCI's YouTube.

Deadheads will recognize the song as a Jerry Garcia Band classic. The song was originally written by R&B artist Jesse Stone, and Roy Hamilton had a hit with his recording of the tune made in 1957. The String Cheese version here is closer to the JGB arrangement — with a sort of funky reggae meets Bo Diddley rock & roll vibe — but more uptempo.

The whole band is really on fire here, with the rhythm section firing on all cylinders, bassist Keith Moseley singing, and Kyle Hollingsworth tickling the organ ivories. Michael Kang rips some gorgeous extended lead lines on his "Kangolin" — which is essentially a 5-string electric guitar with a small body like a mandolin — and Bill Nershi contributes some fabulous jazz guitar himself, before the band locks back together for a triumphant final chorus.

The concert video was originally broadcast on nugs.tv, and you can find the full concert from the band at LiveCheese.com.
