The Purist, a UK beat maker, has collaborated with Your Old Droog for a no-frills hip hop cut. This song comes ahead of the producer's upcoming album The Pyrex Scholar, due out March 17, 2015. There's no chorus, no hook, no bridge and no pop sensibility on this one. This is solid hip hop for people who like luxurious beats and bars.
The rhymes are courtesy of New York City's Your Old Droog, a dude who had the internet in a frenzy when he dropped his debut EP because everyone thought it was Nas under an alter ego. It isn't Nas, but his flow is definitely ill-matic.
The Purist has been doing his thing as well, linking up with the likes of Danny Brown, Action Bronson, and now Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Your Old Droog, and more on the upcoming album.
